Creating Art

I decided to create a little Poem/Song

 Embrace Diversity

Most of us are different
Some of us are the same
We live in different communities
We all have different names.

Most of us go to work
Some of us stay home
There really is not a difference
We all can get along

(verse)
We really are one people
At the end of every day
Recognize your differences
Embrace each other way

Come together in unity
For our children’s sake
It’s all about their future
And the choices that we make

Don’t  worry about our color,
Don’t worry our race,
Don’t worry about our gender,
Or were we find our faith

Listen to what I’m saying
If you really care
Our children will end of paying
The burdens not theirs to bare

(verse)
We really are one people
At the end of every day
Recognize your differences
Embrace each others way

  1. Anita,
It was cool to hear your voice as you sang your poem/song! I really connected to the part about respecting people that go to work and those that stay at home. I was the stay at home parent for many years and was treated like I was an unintelligent. The minute someone found out that I stayed at home they would dismiss me and walk away. This was especially seen when I interacted with other women. When I encounter parents that stay at home, I have nothing but respect and on the flip side I respect people that mange parenting and full time jobs. We (especially women) need to lift each other up and the roles that we play in raising children.

  2. Hello Anita, enjoyed reading,

Our children are very sensitive to what they hear and see. They connectively try to decipher the words that they heard from their parents, families, and their peers in the school environment. “Young children actively make sense of the physical, social and cultural dimensions of the world they inhabit, learning progressively from their activities and their interactions with others, children as well as adults (bernardvanleer.org, 2010).” Our early learning children’s experience in their growth as well as development are ones that are powerfully implemented and shaped; thus their beliefs in cultural needs and their fair treatment, as well the active roles of their parents, family, and the communities in which they live, need to be in planning for our children’s early childhood experiences.

I really loved reading your poem. It depicts how children can learn for all adults and all cultures of different backgrounds. We as educators continually concentrate on how best to provide the programs that will ultimately complement our children and the role of their parents in partnerships with educators. “Through active cooperation between parents, professionals and others in developing the child’s personality, talents and mental and physical abilities to their fullest potential’. This is a
responsibility that all of the world should come together and interact with cultures not of their own, so that they can lean the importance of the impact that it could have on our children’s lives as they grow in a world full of uncertainties, whether intentional or unintentional. Very good poem, coming together at the end of the day is what its’ all about, thanks for sharing.

  3. Anita,
You got a talent for this. The poem expressed true awareness of tensions going on today yet it also focused on how to change things for the better.

  4. I enjoyed your poem. I understood your plea and the passion in your verses. I agree with you, that it shouldn't be our children's cross to carry or their problem to deal with. The choices that we make directly impact the generations after us.

  5. Hi Anita

You really have a talent. Reading through your song and understanding the meaning of it made me also to understand that for sure each and every one of us should get along. There is no reason why we should not get along. The country in which we live in is now diversified and the only way to live in harmony is for us to learn to live together peacefully.
